THE ART OF NARRATIVE : Using stories to shape Law & Policy

The art of storytelling is the secret for a successful career in the law and policy world that most experts don’t give out. Good lawyers and policy-makers are also great storytellers. Their stories are convincing, persuasive and captivating. So, how does a lawyer or a policy professional tell a “good”— effective, purposeful and persuasive, compelling, and factually meticulous — story? There’s no step-by-step formula. But some techniques and principles can be learned and applied to be a good storyteller. In this session, faculty from Daksha Fellowship will discuss the principles and frameworks of legal storytelling with examples of how this has been employed in the law and policy worlds.
